Amazing romantic getaway. The views of the river were breath-taking, especially from our east-facing room. We loved the extensive grounds and enjoyed a romantic walk guided by the friendly Labradors. The homemade cream tea on arrival was a delicious treat. The luxurious room and locally sourced breakfast added to the overall charm. Highly recommended for a peaceful break to recharge your batteries.
No negative aspects to mention.

Pentillie Castle is a very charming B&B Castle where the visitor can feel the spirit of the past. The very personal guest care makes the experience of sleeping in a castle even more private. The large forest area and also the river Tamar invites you to tree your soul. We became aware of this castle through a TV documentary and immediately fell in love with it. Now we could make our dream come true.

I got incredible value for my money at Pentillie Castle And Estate. The room, named Dewhurst, was absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and included a second sitting room and a large bathroom. The location was perfect, with beautiful views in the gardens, and it was a very quiet area, great for relaxation. The staff treated us like family and made us feel right at home.
The morning meal could have had more options to choose from.

We had a fantastic surprise weekend away at Pentillie Castle. The location was lovely and the family team running the place were incredibly helpful and friendly. The pre-cooked meal in the fridge was a great touch, allowing us to relax at our own pace. The views and tranquillity were wonderful, and my husband especially enjoyed watching Defender Day being set up from our bedroom window. The interiors were beautifully designed, and the dining room with portraits of ancestors added a unique touch. The option to have a dinner prepared for us to enjoy on the back patio was truly magical. Pentillie Castle exceeded our expectations and was the most lovely place we stayed during our visit to the UK. The commitment of the family to restoring the garden to its original design is admirable.
Can recommend this hotel.

The Castle Dining Room, with its breathtaking views, was like dining in a fairytale. The bespoke 7-course tasting menu was a culinary journey fit for royalty.
Some mismatched furniture in the bedroom was a minor inconvenience.

I absolutely adored the charming and elegant decor of Pentillie Castle. The grandeur of the historical features and furnishings added a sense of nostalgia and made me feel like I had stepped back in time. The common areas were cozy and inviting, perfect for a senior woman like myself to relax and enjoy a cup of tea by the fire. Furthermore, the castle was very accessible for senior people, with ramps and elevators available to navigate the different levels easily. This made my stay much more comfortable and convenient.
If I had to ask for anything to make the vacation even better for senior people, it would be for the children working there to be a bit more attentive. While they were pleasant and friendly, there were a few instances where I felt they could have been more proactive in assisting me.

We had a wonderful family retreat at this beautiful castle. The warm welcome and friendly staff made us feel right at home. The extensive grounds and outdoor swimming pool were perfect for the kids. The self-catering option worked well for us, with a huge dining room and stone verandah for leisurely meals. The games room in the basement kept everyone entertained. The castle had a "wow" factor, and the memories we made will last a lifetime.
Limited dining options at the castle.

the staff was extremely accommodating and made me feel right at home. the rooms were gorgeous, with picturesque views of the gardens. the kitchen was well-stocked to use, and there was even an honesty bar. the estate also offered a heated pool, games room, and lovely walks around the gardens. I cannot wait to return!
The afternoon tea at the castle was a bit disappointing, with some sandwiches and pastries not meeting expectations.
